April 2011
April is National Car Care month. With warmer weather approaching, now is a good time to make sure your vehicles are ready for summer weather and those vacations. Check your A/C when the temperature approaches 80 degrees and be sure to read our blog entitled "Vent Those Toxins" if you haven't done so already.
With gasoline at historical prices, properly maintaining your vehicle is more important than ever. Check your tire pressures regularly as underinflated tires create additional rolling resistence resulting in lower fuel economy. We recommend a monthly interval for most drivers. Don't run on fumes! Try to maintain the fuel tank level no lower than 1/4 tank to avoid stress on the electrical fuel pump located in the tank on most vehicles.
We are here to help you with all of you automotive needs.

Today we had the privilege of meeting a very special family, Dorian Hollman and his mother Deanna. At the age of 4 years old, in May of 2007, Dorian was diagnosed with a form of brain cancer (Anaplastic Ependymoma). Our paths have crossed due to our involvement as a NAPA Service Pros member shop. Last fall our NAPA group voted unanimously to give back to the communities that have supported us throughout the years. As a result, we are now sponsoring families with children battling cancer through the B+ Foundation. Each member shop has made a commitment to provide charitable repairs to the family vehicle to help offset their transportation expenses. Please visit the associated links and let your heart guide you in supporting a very worthy cause.

We have been tracking a substantial increase in vehicles we service having expired tags. Especially those purchased 5 years ago. This is due to Delaware Motor Vehicle not mailing expiration notices as they have in the past. It would have been prudent for them to send out one final notice informing the general public that the program was being terminated for monetary reasons. On the flip side it has created a substantial revenue generator in collecting those late fees. IMO, not a great way to further improve your image.

"The '71 Bug has lived in Idaho for over a year now. It is running "like a top" and is quite a popular car here. There are little Bugs running all over the place. In December when the mercury dropped to -25 degrees, guess whose car started right up? That's right, mine! Oh, Greg and Margaret are fine too, and thank you again for years of Good Service!"
